Wade Wilson, known as the “Deadpool killer” due to sharing his name with the Marvel antihero, looks drastically different in new prison photos released to the public. Once appearing in court with styled hair, clean suits, and makeup to hide his tattoos, Wilson is now almost unrecognizable—bloated, unkempt, and visibly deteriorated. His skeletal Joker-style tattoo that stretches across his mouth is still present, making his current look even more haunting. Wilson, 31, was sentenced to death in 2024 for the brutal murders of two women in 2019: Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43.

According to prosecutors, Wilson strangled Melton in her Cape Coral home and stole her car. Just hours later, he lured Ruiz—who had simply asked him for directions—into the vehicle, strangled her, threw her out of the car, and ran her over multiple times. One prosecutor described his intention as trying “to make her look like spaghetti.” Wilson later confessed in court, saying, “It came across my mind to murder, just kill, kill, kill.” His confession, along with overwhelming evidence, led the jury to convict him of two counts of first-degree murder, burglary, battery, and grand theft.

Ten of twelve jurors voted in favor of the death penalty. He is currently on death row at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, Florida. Despite the horrifying nature of his crimes, Wilson has developed a disturbing fan following. Reports say he has received nearly 4,000 messages in prison—many of them from women, some containing explicit content. At least 163 inappropriate photos have been blocked by corrections officers. Some women even pleaded with the court to spare his life, calling him “misunderstood.” State Attorney Amira Fox strongly criticized this attention, stating: “I’ve never seen someone as evil as Wade Wilson, and I’m stunned that anyone in the community would choose to support such a monstrous individual.”
